COPCoVE meeting in Lyon
The 3rd forum on Vocational Excellence took place in France!
After San Sebastian and Amsterdam, the community of practice of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) gathered in Lyon, France, from 10 to 12 September 2024. Hundreds of people from all over Europe and beyond came to promote vocational excellence, exchange on best practice and create synergies between their projects. Lyon did not only become the CoVEs capital for a few days; it welcomed at the same time the 47th edition of the worldSkills competition at Eurexpo, giving CoVEs worldwide exposure.
After a first day of panel discussions on the future of CoVEs, the CoVEs took to the stage and built the Cop CoVE city, made of six sectoral villages on industry and mobility of the future, healthy and sustainable food, digital sovereignty, energy transition and sustainable cities, health, autonomy and wellbeing and cultural and creative industries and tourism. The visitors not only learned about the CoVEs’ actions, but they also experienced them first-hand through games and virtual reality. Workshops were also organised to exchange on specific topic, such as applied research in VET, where the AIRinVET project was presented by Tknika.
On 13 September, the city of lights shone a little less brightly when the last streetlamp of the CoP CoVE city went out. What do we take away from the 3rd CoVE forum in Lyon?
The synergies between the European CoVEs and the French Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications. The growing interest for vocational excellence. Being part of a community of committed, motivated people who are convinced that cooperation is essential. We are already looking forward to participating to the 2025 CoVE Forum that will take place from 8 to 11 September 2025 in Kolding, Denmark.
To the organisers - the French Ministry of Education, the French Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications, Tknika, Katapult, the European Commission, EACEA, the VET associations EfVET, EVBB, EVTA, ETF and WorldSkills; to all participants to the CoVE Forum:
